(7-21-2010) Houston TX - In March of 2010 Mel Bush Motorsports brought the 70.5 Camaro to Houston Raceway Park, It ran a 3.97 which in the world of Pro Extreme, is not great. When the team returns to Houston to finish the event that was rained out in March, there are big changes for the team. "The car has undergone some updates, that should make it easier for me to drive, and will help us ultimately go faster and be more competitive. The addition of Quain Stott has already made a impact, we saw that in Topeka. We are feeling really good about our chanced this weekend in Houston." D'Aprile said.
"I am excited to get back on the track, I have a injury to my elbow from the crash in Valdosta, that has not healed quite right, and will require surgical repair, The plan is to have surgery after the ADRL St. Louis event and that will give me a few weeks to recover. My elbow doesn't really bother me, but it has a bulge that the DR. was concerned about, so they scheduled the surgery and I just need to show up." D'Aprile said
Mel Bush Motorsports is part of a 3 car Pro Extreme team that is tuned by Quain Stott, "Having 2 Team mates can only help us in hot weather, the track will be tricky and the data from all the cars will be helpful to Quain throughout the day." With one qualifying session left to run in the rained out date, it will be interesting to see how the improves from the 3.98 in March. "We were in the field for the Houston event, after being one of only 2 pairs that ran in March before a electrical issue and rain ended the event. We chose to throw that run away and take another chance with the rest of the Pro Extreme Cars on Friday. I just really believe that this car wants to run in the 3.7s and while I know its going to be hot and sticky, I think we can improve our position, I have faith in my crew and in Quain's tuning abilities."
